The Latest: The Darkside of the Day Clutch

Yesterday was officially a Wednesday, but it had all of the trimmings of a Monday.  You know what I mean, those kind of Mondays.

The type of Monday when thing, after thing, after thing, just goes terribly wrong!

It all started with pretty much zero sleep.  Does three hours count? And it ended with something that I thought would be a whole lot of fun; catching up with my dear friend Katie to discuss our exciting weekend plans – little did I know the day clutch had another plan in mind.

Somewhere between the zombie-like-trance I was in due to no sleep, and the allure of getting home and making dinner, I managed to do something I have NEVER DONE BEFORE.

I left my clutch at the cafe.

This is the ultimate nightmare, because as all girls understand, our entire life is contained in that teeny tiny bag.  ID, eftpos/credit cards, favourite makeup supplies, extra spares of keys, chewing gum, the name and number of the cute guy I met last week, etc, etc.

Thankfully I got lucky, and the one and only thing that went my way yesterday happened to be that because the cafe staff knows me well, they safely tucked away my purse until I visited for my morning coffee run.

MORAL OF THE STORY: This little experience has taught me a very valuable lesson.  Clutches for the day time are OVER RATED.

From now on, I’m all about the purse, especially the purse with the long shoulder strap.  That is, until I have an assistant who helps me keep track of all of my things. ;)

Here are some of my favourites that I’m currently lusting after to get some inspiration.
